Adoption Application

BAPBR strives to find life-long homes for our dogs. We ask that you only consider adopting one of our dogs if you can guarantee it a home for its lifetime.

We really love our dogs and want to ensure lifelong success for both dog and adopter. We're extra thorough in matching each dog with the right family because they cannot return to the organization’s care in Mexico if there isn't a good fit. As such, completion of this application does not guarantee an adoption of one of our dogs, but rest assured that we will review each application with great care.

While most of our dogs go to families in the Pacific Northwest, we do occasionally make exceptions for adopters with a great fit (you must be able to travel to Portland for pickup).

Please provide as much information as you can in the application as failure to answer one or more questions may result in your application being rejected. After reviewing your application if we believe that there would be a good fit, we will be in touch with you. Thank you so much for your interest!

What happens after you apply?

If we determine there is a good fit, we’ll schedule a phone interview with founder Angela Adams regarding your application.
We arrange the flight to Oregon (included in fee) with weekly photo/video updates
Airport pickup at PDX—pay adoption fee, receive medical records, welcome your new family member home!

Timeline: 2-4 weeks for CDC/USDA paperwork and flight arrangement once approved

The adoption fee includes:
- Flight to U.S. • USDA import permit • Travel Health Certificate
- Spay/neuter • All vaccines (DHLPPi, Rabies, Bordetella) • Full blood work & health tests (CBC, blood parasite tests, parvo/giardia/coronavirus test) • Flea/tick/heartwork treatment & deworming
- Microchip • Grooming • Collar, leash & ID tag
